Yesterday community care event at fernvale primary was really a fun event! Too bad if you had missed it. HAHA. although there were a lot of boo boos in the game, the kids seem to enjoy a lot. perhaps this is something unique of kids. dont care about the small little things and just had fun. i think it is something which i had never experience for some time already. i'm not saying that i'm old. but sometimes when we've grown up, we tend to take things to serious and forgot to enjoy the process.

He is zhuo jun wen. Primary 4 this year. I am very touched by him by he came up to me just to say "Good Bye". Cos on our way to Fernvale Primary, I talked to him on the bus and he ignored me. I kept on asking till he is like very annoyed. HAHA. but he was the one that bring us to fernvale. And throughout the whole event, I didnt really talk to him. Therefore, when he came just to say good bye to me, I'm really touched! HAHA.

Really have to thanks all those who participate in this event. HAHA. They really make this whole event enjoyable. But I want to especially thanks my game team! They are Jim, Joanna, Wendy, Chia Min, Ting, Jin Sheng, Zi Jie, Kiatming, Xiavier and Amanda. Yea. Although there was a bit of boo boo here and there, but they still managed to take good care of the kids. And for xiavier and amanda, i love their hosting! HAHA. Yeah. Thanks for waking up so early too!
Lastly, i also want to thank eagle (xiao ying, zephanie). She did the most in this event. Doing those admin stuff(eg contacting the school), trying to coordinate every section in the event and stuff despite her busy schedule. Also, got to learn some event planning things from her.

finally, i got a chance to touch the drum today! it's not that i've never touch the drum before but today it's my first day playing on the drum!
i met stewart for lunch at chinatown in the afternoon. well, i've spent all the money that i had brought out on food in just one afternoon. we went to eat noodles at one famous stall, dessert which cost $3.50 and a gelato float! woah! he's a big eater man!
then, we met up with weixiong and lik choon at ao-ju-nied (okay. i dont know the spelling) to go to the jamming studio. actually, like what i've said before, I dont really know how to play those instruments. but i tried to play "therefore being justified by faith" on the e-guit with weixiong trying to catch up with my strumming, while stewart tries to play on the drum. hmm. dont really know how it sounds like but i think it's really horrible. HAHA.
stewart also taught me how to play drum. and i taught him what is patience. yeah. my coordination is really bad. but it's really cool to play on drum!
in the late evening, we went and met with other people from tp to celebrate lantern festival at bedok reservoir. lol. it was simply amusing to look at them play and ate up those nutty mooncakes. we played sparkles too but jia min didnt. she's scared of sparkles. lol yeah. it's fun!
will be going to run again. haha. keep fit keep fit. i'm going to keep fit!
for the past one hour, i had been watching the drum lesson video. i dont have a drum stick so i used paper fasterner instead. wah! it's really hard to coordinate. all my hands and legs are liked joined together. then i wonder how to those drummers managed to play so well and coordinate so well. really have to salute them. hmm. perhaps they have two brain to control their hands and legs. grr.. i still cant get the coordination.
tmr, i'll be going jamming with stewart, azri and whoever is also going. ( i dont really know who's going) yeah. i go there and rot. cos i know nothing. haha but going there to learn. see. and maybe learn drum =D

For the past few days, I've been soaked in praise and worship. From Saturday to Monday, there have been serveral praise and worship sessions. For Saturday, because I am singing for the Church Anniversary, I attended 2 extended praise and worship session in the 2 services. As for Sunday and Monday, it was the Jump Conference and the Jump Concert.
The Hope Bangkok team were in Singapore to lead p&w in Aniversary and conduct the JUMP conference and JUMP concert. Indeed, they had blessed Hope Singapore greatly. I've learnt a lot from them too. Once again, I was reminded of these two words again, "Worship Extravagant". This is how we should praise and worship God. Some people told me that I look like a monkey jumping on stage etc. Well, I dont care. I only have one audience and that's GOD!
If you have seen how the Hope Bangkok team led p&w, it seems like they just "whack". But I dont think so. I think they are really spirit led. A lot of things wasnt prepared during rehearsal but were chosen to do on the spot. For example, the choo choo train on stage in 2nd service. In addition, the choir wasn't that prepared too because of a lot of last minute changes. I was worried in the first place too because of that too. But under their leading, everything went quite smoothly. I was impressed how they led p&w. Even my non believer friend mentioned that they are professional when I asked him how he feel about the service. They really gave all out and led with their heart, and with the holy spirit. Indeed, this is what God wants.
The pastor/ worship leader of the band has been serving in the worship ministry for the past 26 years. He is able to be a preacher, a church planter, a evangelist and other roles in church but God told him clearly to be in the worship ministry. Now, his family is also in the worship ministry. (his son is the saxophonist in the worship team which came to singapore).
Some things which the thai band pastor said which impacted me. "If God calls you to be in the worship team, make sure you are in! Dont try to run away!" "If you are in the worship team, when u go grow older, you should still be in worship team. when you're married, your partner should serve with you in worship team. When you have children, train them so next time they can also join the team." "If you quarrel with someone and never forgive, you bear grudges, not having a good spiritual life, you shouldnt come on stage to lead praise and worship."
After joining the conference, it makes me really want to continue to serve in WAM ministry. I'm not sure if this is God's calling but I believe that as I serve more, He will reveal more to me. Centralised Choir is now disbanded but I will still wait till it starts again!
it has been a very tiring yet exciting week for me.
last mon, we went to one of the brother's father factory for prayer meet. Actually only the first level is his father's work place. As for the second level, it's a paradise man! The place is well decorated and there are a pool table, plasma tv, fridge, lots of mattress, board games, drinks etc. It is huge too!Woah. After prayer meet, some of us played pool, some played board games and others watched movie.
as for tues, i helped xiao ying with her major project. went to tanah merah country club there to sell some anti mosquito products in some golf charity event. wah. the place is really cool. also, the minister (ops i forgot who already) attended that event too. we also took a picture with him. =D
As for wed and thurs, went to EVO RETREAT. It is at Aloha Changi. The chalet is really huge. There are 2 levels and a total of 6 bed rooms. What I really remembered doing there is playing WORMS. Not the real wriggly creature. It's a computer game. Air strike, missile, banana, sheep etc.. oo. it's just so fun! Thanks to Zi jie's lap top. Also, games led by samuel, lemmuel and an np guy on wed night was fun and funny too!Then on thursday, initially we have to wake up early for teaching but teaching was later cancel. the whole thurs after was a very relaxing day. TRIED to fly kite, play at a mini beach, make honey bbq bread, make garlic bbq bread etc. although there were not a lot of things to do and may seems boring, it is just so relaxing. perhaps sometimes this is what we need. a slower pace.

friday night, had anniversary practice at downtown east. had to print out new lyrics at the last minute so i went to hsinyi's hse to do so. at the same time, she also passed me my belated birthday present. it's a necklance which has a broken heart shaped pendant and on the pendant, there were 3 letters "bes". Hsinyi also have one. her's is "tie". Thus, when hers and mine are placed together, it forms a complete heart shaped with the word "bestie". It's the sweetest gift i ever get. thanks hsinyi!
After the practice, jol, joyce and me went to take bus home. Joyce and I waited bus 15. After 40 minutes of waiting, we realised the last bus had already left! So in the end, we took bus 21. Although it was very late and we had to reach downtown east at 8am the next day, we still went to eat prata.
But thank God, the next day we still manage to wake up. But we're late. This dumb Joyce is really funny! On our to downtown east, she told me this, "Let's get married together!" The moment i heard this, my jaw dropped!
"Joyce, you les ah!" this was my reply.
"I mean let's get married on the same day!"
What a big difference!

I had been working for the past few days at the suntec Game Convention Asia under ace:dayton. It is an international event. Therefore, there are many people from different countries. My job scope is a time keeper, meaning I keep track of the time to ensure the speaker in the room does not over run. Since it is a game convention, everything the speaker talks are almost about games- something which i have not touched since last year. Yeah. It is boring. It is also very business because people who attended this convention are mostly developers and publishers of games. Therefore, speakers talk about the developement of games in their countries or how their company market their games or how to make money using games. Despite the talk is boring, I still try to listen to what the speaker says and observe if they are a good speaker or not. Well, then I realised not all big businessman are a good speaker. Some hardly have interaction with their audience, monotonous voice and bad body language. But there are a few good ones. Even though you may not understand what they are talking about, by observing how they talk, it do make me awake.
As for pay and the working environment, it is very good! The pay is the best pay which I ever had and we doesnt have to do much. It is not a physically challenge job but more of a mentally challenged job. For me, because I will be in the room listening to the speaker talking in their own world most of the time, I have to keep myself awake. But there were many long breaks (an hour break) in between when the speakers are not talking and when the attendees have breaks, we had ours too and we do get paid when we're having breaks. There are also free lunch and cookies(Maurise loves those cookies!). The tea there is nice too. HAHA. yeah. I'm always looking forward to breaks because I can walk around, go eat cookies, looking for people to talk and trying not to be caught by nancy.
The people there are quite friendly. Did made a few friends too. my room and IT managers quite alright too. tricked me a many times and tried to convince me to smoke.
Yesterday after work, met up with hoon, jim, chester and nanping for dinner. we walked all the way to arab street for a japanese dinner. It is expensive and we wanted to leave initially but in the end didn't. But the food is really nice. yup.

As I look back at my year 1 first semester, I realised many things have changed. Environment, friends, emotion, relationship, character and the lists goes on. As time passes, many thing will change and changes are something that we cannot avoid. People come and people goes. Things look this way but look differently few years down the road. Seriously, I had never really like changes. Since young, I always thought that "it would be good if things remain this way!" but nothing remain that way it used to be. I tried to hold on to it selfishly but sometime it just suck out my life and made me tired. If I let go, will things be better?
Then during a recent talk with Joleen, she said something like that "letting go made her realised how to depend on God and tap onto God's strength to move on". I thought, "Yeah true! What for hold on to past experience, emotion, relationship, promises, memories when I've already known the results--it will never be the same again!" Depend on the faithful God and tap on His strength to move on is definitely so much better.
However, despite of changes, values and principles should not be conformed to it. Values and principles cannot be compromised to changes. At the recent sharing with Joleen and Joyce, both of them mentioned about values. Over the time, values have been diluted and sometimes we are unawared because everyone is doing it. It can be tough to stick onto values but it is still better than doing something wrong that might hurt yourself or others.
As to Dennis and Sharlene, thanks for being a great and inspiring leaders in youth. I'm glad to have serve with all in East. and to Sharlene, thanks for being there when i'm uncertain in choosing my school. once again, HAPPY BIRTHHDAY! =D

For the past few days, I've been soaked in praise and worship. From Saturday to Monday, there have been serveral praise and worship sessions. For Saturday, because I am singing for the Church Anniversary, I attended 2 extended praise and worship session in the 2 services. As for Sunday and Monday, it was the Jump Conference and the Jump Concert.
The Hope Bangkok team were in Singapore to lead p&w in Aniversary and conduct the JUMP conference and JUMP concert. Indeed, they had blessed Hope Singapore greatly. I've learnt a lot from them too. Once again, I was reminded of these two words again, "Worship Extravagant". This is how we should praise and worship God. Some people told me that I look like a monkey jumping on stage etc. Well, I dont care. I only have one audience and that's GOD!
If you have seen how the Hope Bangkok team led p&w, it seems like they just "whack". But I dont think so. I think they are really spirit led. A lot of things wasnt prepared during rehearsal but were chosen to do on the spot. For example, the choo choo train on stage in 2nd service. In addition, the choir wasn't that prepared too because of a lot of last minute changes. I was worried in the first place too because of that too. But under their leading, everything went quite smoothly. I was impressed how they led p&w. Even my non believer friend mentioned that they are professional when I asked him how he feel about the service. They really gave all out and led with their heart, and with the holy spirit. Indeed, this is what God wants.
The pastor/ worship leader of the band has been serving in the worship ministry for the past 26 years. He is able to be a preacher, a church planter, a evangelist and other roles in church but God told him clearly to be in the worship ministry. Now, his family is also in the worship ministry. (his son is the saxophonist in the worship team which came to singapore).
Some things which the thai band pastor said which impacted me. "If God calls you to be in the worship team, make sure you are in! Dont try to run away!" "If you are in the worship team, when u go grow older, you should still be in worship team. when you're married, your partner should serve with you in worship team. When you have children, train them so next time they can also join the team." "If you quarrel with someone and never forgive, you bear grudges, not having a good spiritual life, you shouldnt come on stage to lead praise and worship."
After joining the conference, it makes me really want to continue to serve in WAM ministry. I'm not sure if this is God's calling but I believe that as I serve more, He will reveal more to me. Centralised Choir is now disbanded but I will still wait till it starts again!
it has been a very tiring yet exciting week for me.
last mon, we went to one of the brother's father factory for prayer meet. Actually only the first level is his father's work place. As for the second level, it's a paradise man! The place is well decorated and there are a pool table, plasma tv, fridge, lots of mattress, board games, drinks etc. It is huge too!Woah. After prayer meet, some of us played pool, some played board games and others watched movie.
as for tues, i helped xiao ying with her major project. went to tanah merah country club there to sell some anti mosquito products in some golf charity event. wah. the place is really cool. also, the minister (ops i forgot who already) attended that event too. we also took a picture with him. =D
As for wed and thurs, went to EVO RETREAT. It is at Aloha Changi. The chalet is really huge. There are 2 levels and a total of 6 bed rooms. What I really remembered doing there is playing WORMS. Not the real wriggly creature. It's a computer game. Air strike, missile, banana, sheep etc.. oo. it's just so fun! Thanks to Zi jie's lap top. Also, games led by samuel, lemmuel and an np guy on wed night was fun and funny too!Then on thursday, initially we have to wake up early for teaching but teaching was later cancel. the whole thurs after was a very relaxing day. TRIED to fly kite, play at a mini beach, make honey bbq bread, make garlic bbq bread etc. although there were not a lot of things to do and may seems boring, it is just so relaxing. perhaps sometimes this is what we need. a slower pace.

friday night, had anniversary practice at downtown east. had to print out new lyrics at the last minute so i went to hsinyi's hse to do so. at the same time, she also passed me my belated birthday present. it's a necklance which has a broken heart shaped pendant and on the pendant, there were 3 letters "bes". Hsinyi also have one. her's is "tie". Thus, when hers and mine are placed together, it forms a complete heart shaped with the word "bestie". It's the sweetest gift i ever get. thanks hsinyi!
After the practice, jol, joyce and me went to take bus home. Joyce and I waited bus 15. After 40 minutes of waiting, we realised the last bus had already left! So in the end, we took bus 21. Although it was very late and we had to reach downtown east at 8am the next day, we still went to eat prata.
But thank God, the next day we still manage to wake up. But we're late. This dumb Joyce is really funny! On our to downtown east, she told me this, "Let's get married together!" The moment i heard this, my jaw dropped!
"Joyce, you les ah!" this was my reply.
"I mean let's get married on the same day!"
What a big difference!

I had been working for the past few days at the suntec Game Convention Asia under ace:dayton. It is an international event. Therefore, there are many people from different countries. My job scope is a time keeper, meaning I keep track of the time to ensure the speaker in the room does not over run. Since it is a game convention, everything the speaker talks are almost about games- something which i have not touched since last year. Yeah. It is boring. It is also very business because people who attended this convention are mostly developers and publishers of games. Therefore, speakers talk about the developement of games in their countries or how their company market their games or how to make money using games. Despite the talk is boring, I still try to listen to what the speaker says and observe if they are a good speaker or not. Well, then I realised not all big businessman are a good speaker. Some hardly have interaction with their audience, monotonous voice and bad body language. But there are a few good ones. Even though you may not understand what they are talking about, by observing how they talk, it do make me awake.
As for pay and the working environment, it is very good! The pay is the best pay which I ever had and we doesnt have to do much. It is not a physically challenge job but more of a mentally challenged job. For me, because I will be in the room listening to the speaker talking in their own world most of the time, I have to keep myself awake. But there were many long breaks (an hour break) in between when the speakers are not talking and when the attendees have breaks, we had ours too and we do get paid when we're having breaks. There are also free lunch and cookies(Maurise loves those cookies!). The tea there is nice too. HAHA. yeah. I'm always looking forward to breaks because I can walk around, go eat cookies, looking for people to talk and trying not to be caught by nancy.
The people there are quite friendly. Did made a few friends too. my room and IT managers quite alright too. tricked me a many times and tried to convince me to smoke.
Yesterday after work, met up with hoon, jim, chester and nanping for dinner. we walked all the way to arab street for a japanese dinner. It is expensive and we wanted to leave initially but in the end didn't. But the food is really nice. yup.

As I look back at my year 1 first semester, I realised many things have changed. Environment, friends, emotion, relationship, character and the lists goes on. As time passes, many thing will change and changes are something that we cannot avoid. People come and people goes. Things look this way but look differently few years down the road. Seriously, I had never really like changes. Since young, I always thought that "it would be good if things remain this way!" but nothing remain that way it used to be. I tried to hold on to it selfishly but sometime it just suck out my life and made me tired. If I let go, will things be better?
Then during a recent talk with Joleen, she said something like that "letting go made her realised how to depend on God and tap onto God's strength to move on". I thought, "Yeah true! What for hold on to past experience, emotion, relationship, promises, memories when I've already known the results--it will never be the same again!" Depend on the faithful God and tap on His strength to move on is definitely so much better.
However, despite of changes, values and principles should not be conformed to it. Values and principles cannot be compromised to changes. At the recent sharing with Joleen and Joyce, both of them mentioned about values. Over the time, values have been diluted and sometimes we are unawared because everyone is doing it. It can be tough to stick onto values but it is still better than doing something wrong that might hurt yourself or others.
As to Dennis and Sharlene, thanks for being a great and inspiring leaders in youth. I'm glad to have serve with all in East. and to Sharlene, thanks for being there when i'm uncertain in choosing my school. once again, HAPPY BIRTHHDAY! =D
