Class started at 8.30am but I opened the door and walked into the classroom at 8.35am. I was late.
"Good morning!" I greeted my lecturer and classmates.
"Morning! Quick choose a time." Gary said enthusiastically.
I turned around and saw names and time. I thought they were guessing what time will those late comers arrived and I asked Gary why my name is not up there.
"No. You need to choose a time. We are playing a game called, 'What time you think Samantha will arrive,' and winner get a free cup of drink!" Gary replied.
Interesting. What a way to start my morning! I guessed that Sam will arrive at 9.05am. I was pretty near. At 09.02am, Sam walked in the class. There were disappointing sighs here and there. Nicholas(KT) guessed that Sam will arrive at 9.03am and he was over the moon! He got the free drink.
When the lesson was about to end, Gary announced that our internship is likely to be 31 weeks, instead of the usual 24 weeks. It sounds really bad because it takes up our 2 holidays. He said that our internship will start right after our Sem 2.2 main exam and end about the week before Sem 3.2 starts. However, I am pretty looking forward to my internship. At least, I know that my lecturers have ensure that the companies have structured plans for us.
In the late afternoon, we were made to stay back to support our coursemates and lecturers in the campus relay. I was quite reluctant intially but those AMS teams did not disappoint us. Out of 3 teams, 2 teams got into Top 10. The 3rd team in the Top 15 too. There were 50+ teams participating and getting into Top 15 was definitely not easy. Kudos to those runners!
After seeing so many people running, I feel like running too. Anybody want to run next week?

Happy Birthday Nam Peng!
Last friday, it was our class' senoir citizen's birthday! Jim, Adha, Chris, Weizhi, Chester, Joanna and I went to celebrate for him at Swensen. Initially we didn't plan any surprise for me. It was only just a normal birthday dinner.
We told the manager that it was his birthday that day and we ask him to plan something for him. Someone suggested balloons and I said, "Why not give him 24 balloons since he is 24 years old?" The manager asked us not to worry for he will plan a big one for us. Initally, we thought it will be those usual thing-- singing happy birthday song. He walked off a while and came back later. We brought back the topic about the 24 balloons and we checked whether do we have to pay for those balloons. He said that 1 balloon cost $2 but if Nam Peng stand on the chair, it would be free.
After that, he walked off again and he thought the balloons thing was just only a joke. However, we were all shocked when he came out from the kitchen with his crews, taking 24 balloons.
Now, let the pictures do all those typings
24 balloons were just too many. Chester and Nam Peng ended up giving out balloons to those kids at Swensens.
Happy Meh-day to you Mr Goat! Hope this birthday is one of the memorable ones for you! (:
Food Race.
To those Indian friends,
HAPPY DEEPAVALI!
Participate in a game, called Amazing Food Race today. If you had watch the Taiwanese Show, 十字路口, you will understand how this game is played. It is almost exactly the same. I enjoyed it a lot. There were lots of fun and ugly shots taken but who cares? Hah. We've won the race unexpectedly. There were lots of teams who reached earlier than us eg, Shuh Fen's team. Every where we go, we were sure to meet them somewhere, somehow. Even at our last station, Simei, we still met them. We took the cab first but they found the ending point first. It was indeed a close fight. However, there were a lot of people who either did not complete the race or misunderstood the rules, and thus we won the race.
Here are my team mates: Jurene, Priscilla, Simin, Vanessa and me. You know what's our team name? TEAM 3! hah. Totally no link.
Simin quoted this from Vanessa's blog and showed it to me just now! "GONE TO THE FOOD RACE TODAY. MY TEAM IS SO KIASU AND ENTHU.If you wanna lose, it could be impossible with such team members. Get what i mean??!! YES, WE WON!!!"
You know what? Kiasu.. Definitely not me! =D
We've won a $50 swensen's voucher! Time to feast again!
Going to play water now. Ciaos.

Airport Job has finally ended today. I was feeling a bit sad. It's not because there is no money for me to earn but it's about the place and the people. Working is never about money for OGL didnt give us a lot of pay. However, I guess I will miss the place. I had been working at the airport for a few times in this year but after this Digital Connection 2008 promoter job has came to an end, I guessed I will stop going to the airport for quite some time.
I guessed I'm gonna miss GoGo Frank too.
This is a long post!
Last Sunday, Joleen met a French guy called Guillaume at Starbucks. They exchanged numbers and the guy invited her to his house on that day. Joleen called me after that, asking whether I want to go along with her. She told me that Guillaume is a director of assistance operation and AVIATION in asia region, of a international company. (She thought of me when she saw the word "AVIATION")
Initially, I felt a bit reluctant to go because I don't know that guy. Moreover, Joleen only met for less than a day, and he actually invited her to his place for dinner.
"JOLEEN ARE YOU MAD?! YOU ONLY MET HIM FOR A DAY AND YOU AGREED TO GO TO HIS PLACE! DON'T YOU FIND IT WEIRD?!"
This was what I screamed into the phone when she told me. However, I guessed I was really over-react.
Yesterday, we went down to his place, with a "bodyguard", Luke. I tell you all! I was freaking afraid so I did a lot of precaution. I messaged to a few people, asking them to keep messaging me and I will reply within 15 minutes. This was just to in case that he turned out to be a bad guy and drugged the food or drink. Another thing was my file, just in case anything happen, I can use to it to whack.
I was just over-reacting. In the end, I didnt reply Jia Min because we were so engaged in the conversation with him. Jia Min called 3 times, hoping that I will pick up. However, I kept my phone in my bag so I didnt know that she called. She even sent a message that say, "Are you all okay?" I guessed she was freaking worried.
Guillaume's house is really nice. His house is just beside the pool. WOW. What a convenience! If you're late for school or work in the morning, you can just dropped yourself in the pool. A faster way for washing up! Anyway, he cooked potato and chicken stew for us. It is one of the french food. Apart from food, there was red wine too.
It was Luke's lucky day. Apart from red wine, there was Jack Daniel's and some other old whiskey that is more than 10 years old. I tried a drop of that old stuff and it literally burned down my throat. 43% Alcohol. I didnt know that before I tried. Luke tried a few shots of that. He loves it I think.
Guillaume is an easy-going man. Although he is a director, he doesn't put on airs with us. On the other hand, he went down to our level. He was able to talk about different topics, from music to media, from media to aviation, aviation to politics, politics to blah blah blah. ANYTHING. He shared a lot of his experience with us too. When we were about to leave, he also offered me job opportunities. He said if I need a job in Aviation sector next time, I can look for him because his company is looking for people. Wow. Cool but I think it is not what I want. But thanks a lot.
To sum up everything, I've learnt a lot. It was eye-opening. There was great food, great music (guitaring and listening to Buena Vista Social Club's music etc), beautiful house and of course an interesting newly made friend. The oldest friend which I've made. First french friend too.
Ending this post with a funny incident. I got a cultural shock yesterday too. I was kissed. Air kiss only. Well, it's not that I dont know such things. I do know that it's their culture or rather say an social gesture. However, I'm just not used to it, getting so close with a guy. =/ However, all this happened because I said the wrong thing.
G's room mate: Hello. A kiss for you two? Joleen: Huh? No. I think a handshake will do. G: Give her a break. It's not their culture. They are not used to it. So Joleen shook hand with that guy only. GRM: Actually it's not our culture. It is MY culture. haha. So a kiss for you? (He looked at me.) Ray: No no no. IT'S OKAY.
I guess he only heard the last two words. The next thing that I knew was that he came closer to me and then, his cheek was just beside mine and the other cheek.
Joleen: Your first kiss hor?! (she was laughing beside.)
Same thing happened when we were about to leave. X_X
Thank arh Jol! Laugh only. You must be laughing when you read this post right?! HAH! I knew it! If not, I'll try harder next time.

I overslept this morning. I supposed to wake up at 6.30am to prepare and go for my dental appointment which was at 9am. I woke up at 8.30am instead. I guessed I was really tired. Got home from work at 2.30am last night. I had another appointment (the MAPAS test) at 10.45am so I had to postpone my dental appointment to the afternoon.
The MAPAS test is somehow a waste of time. =/
The test was held in a computer room at SAFCC. It is a land of guys. When I entered, I felt really awkward. The people, who are also taking the test in the room, were all guys. As for the test, it was just doing IQ questions in a very limited time. eg. 11 mins to finish 30+ questions.
There are a series of different test. All done in one computer. I didnt complete most of the tests as they are really difficult. They test all kinds of things. From maths to physics and even memory test. I was quite disappointed because I thought I will meddle with some simulator or do something more. Oh well...

This post supposed to be talking about the BP mission trip. However, I still haven't got those pictures. If you're wondering what we were doing there, just go to Jeremy Kui's blog. He is really detailed. That's a fact and he can't deny it.
Last week had been a very hectic week for me. Like what this picture says, "I'm drowning in work". Everyday, I had to wake up before 6am and travel to work. I could barely sleep more than 6 hours a day.
Finally, I got my day off today. Initally, 2 people asked me whether I can work today but I just rejected. It was simply because I am really sick and tired of working.
Today, I just stayed at home and do nothing. Nothing except reading the Word, changing my blogskin and sleeping. Sounds like a wasted day but I like it this way once in a while.
I attended my paternal cousin's wedding last Thursday. I dont really know them well so the whole dinner was a boring one. Did nothing except eating and watching videos of the newly-wed couples. It had been a long time since I attended a wedding dinner and this one was a different one. The couples are christians. I missed their wedding ceremony at the church (i really wanted to go!) but the video showed us a glimpse of what happened at the church. Exchanging the vows, praying for one another, lighting the candle together etc. Interesting.hmm.. May the Lord bless this newly-wed couples and that they will stay committed to one another as they serve the Lord together.
Another update. I'll be going for the Airforce MAPAS Pilot Test this thursday. I gave up the other time because I went to meet Yakka. I didnt expect that they will call again. I wanted to reject because I have no interest in joining the airforce (initially i dont mind) but they asked me to go try for fun so I thought why not. I doubt I can make it. Too short and not fit. Hoho. Just for fun only. Anyone wanna accompany me to go? Not very far. It is just at Depot road. (Near Bukit Merah) =/
